Wheat exports
Agricultural sector is one of the strongest sectors of the Ukrainian economy The main competitive advantage of the grain industry in Ukraine is lower cost and availability of good infrastructure before Ukrainian exporters holds great export opportunities of feed grain group. Ukraine is one of the world leaders - exporters of grain, oilseeds and their products, and in the future will increase its export capacity. So, in 2013, grain production in Ukraine could grow by 24-26% to 57-58 million tons, and the profitability of grain production is expected to reach 25% -30%, whereas in 2010-2012, the profitability was 14% - 26% noted a rapid build-up dynamics in exports to non-CIS countries, such as India, China and others. Ukrainian exporters are located on the strategic market of China. So until the end of the marketing year 2013/2014 planned to deliver to China about 4 million tons of grain. Until October 23, according to traders, Ukraine exported about 1.8 million tonnes of barley and 4.9 million tonnes of wheat, which is about 72-82% and 52-55%, respectively, the export potential of these crops in 2013/14 MG (2.2-2.5 million tonnes of barley and 9-9.5 million tonnes of wheat). The main markets for Ukrainian agricultural products, including cereals are already become traditional for us, the Middle East (Saudi Arabia - barley, Egypt - wheat), North Africa and Western Europe. The share of EU imports of Ukrainian grain last year exceeded 40%, but in the long term, this market does not look so promising. According to leading experts, the current markets for Ukrainian exporters are almost completely saturated and have a low potential for growth, but the countries of Asia, especially Southeast Asia, are very interesting for our exporters in the medium and long term.
